Blog Post 4 - Response to Personal Profile

Updated: Jul 2, 2018

Some of the things I noticed and liked about Nate Norman’s personal profile were:

The author could be humorous at times and used casual language. The sentences were simple in structure and in vocabulary, which makes it easier for the reader to understand and enjoy. Since this isn’t a research paper or anything, I don’t think it was necessary for it to be any more formal.

There was lots of background information about the situation and the people involved. There are ample physical descriptions about people and places which give the reader a good look into the life of Norman, and a good enough look at the different personalities to capture the reader’s attention and get them invested.

The author provided actual facts and details, such as information from the police department, which helped give a clearer understanding about the operation.

The profile included many different perspectives from different people, which also allows you to have a better understanding of Norman, his situation, and his development. However, the author didn’t include everything that everybody said, which kept the story from dragging on. The author did a great job of giving you a look into Norman’s character without even speaking to him.
